Last year, Realtor.com named it "the number one place in America where you want to live," and it said, "If you have a question about the history of Logan's port and its economy, you can tell that Pennsylvania Railroad was one of the most important employers. In fact, Penn Central ran the last train from Chicago to Cincinnati in 1884, just a few years before Penn Station opened in Chicago.
Logansport had the much larger Pan-Henkel Depot, which was demolished in 1962, and it also houses a renovated Dentzel carousel, which resides in Riverside Park on the banks of the Eel River. The carousels and games are operated by a brass ring, which the drivers can cling to while driving or grab the brass rings.
The Cattail Trail is a pleasant route through West Lafayette that winds through Logansport and begins at Pickett Memorial Park and winds down to Purdue University campus. Big 4 Rail Trail is a trail route developed by the Great Lakes Regional Transit Authority (GTRTA). The Monterey-Erie Trail extends over the same stretch of land as the Big Four Rail Trail, and the two trails are expected to be linked in the future.
The Economic Development Organisation of the City of Logansport is a non-profit economic development organisation focused on the development of the city, its businesses and the local community. The city also hosts the McHale Performing Arts Center, which has a 2,000-seat auditorium for concerts and other events. It is connected to the school by a two-lane road and a car park, as well as a large car park and multi-storey car parks. At the interface between business and local communities, the Loganport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce is the forum for local business.
