Located between the Wabash and Eel rivers, Cass County, Indiana is an excellent place for those who love nature. The county was founded in 1828 and named after General Lewis Cass, who was the U.S. Secretary of War.

Tom was in the US Air Force for the next 4 years, served 3 years with Luke AFB in Phoenix and observed the activities in Russia. The Little Turtle Waterway is an architect-designed public walkway system and part of the Paradise Spring Riverwalk Trail System in Logan Port Indiana. Although it is not even 1.5 km long, it is worth the trip and for a relaxed walk with the most beautiful views you should definitely visit it.

There are flat hills to the north and east of Logansport that form a ridge over northern Cass and Miami County, and farmland to the south is generally flat. The nickel plate trail crosses a short gap in the middle of Peru and runs from Madison, Indiana South to Michigan City Indiana. There are many different names for the road, including Logan Port Road, Madison - Indiana - Peru Trail or Port Port - Lima Trail.

The River Bluff Trail follows the Eel River on an elevated, paved surface and crosses a wooded area between the town of Logansport and the town of Port Port, Indiana. The Monterey-Erie Trail occupies the same area as the two rail lines, which are both to be connected in the future.

The Cass County Arts Alliance supports the local arts community through numerous art exhibitions and artistic events. The Big 4 Rail Trail is a hiking route developed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Michigan State Police, as well as the Cass County Parks and Recreation Department. The Converse Junction Trail, completed in late 2015, connects the small Indian communities of Mier and Converse over a two-mile stretch.
